Emergency Call-In Day: Don’t Put DC Families on a Child Care Waitlist
DC’s early learning community just received troubling news: the District will implement a waitlist for the Child Care Subsidy Program beginning May 12, cutting off access to affordable child care for many eligible working families.
On Thursday, March 19, District residents are coming together for an ALL DAY District-wide call-in day, flooding the phones of Mayor Bowser and District leaders to demand they stop the child care subsidy waitlist and protect DC families, educators, and programs.
Rather than closing the door on families who need help, DC leaders should fully fund the programs that keep children in classrooms and parents working. Our calls will show decision makers that the community expects solutions—not waitlists.
How it works
